Bluejay Volleyball Team Sweeps Augustana

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Elmhurst College volleyball team evened its record at 14-14 overall and secured home-court advantage in the upcoming play-in match for the CCIW Tournament by defeating Augustana College 25-19, 26-24, 25-18.
Paige Fombelle led the Elmhurst attack, totaling a team-leading 11 kills and six blocks. Caitlin O'Hara added seven kills and a pair of aces while Antonéya Veasy Smith recorded five kills. Katie Buechel tallied a team-leading 19 digs while Lindy Melville finished with 18 assists and two aces. Erin Thill contributed 11 assists in the Bluejays' victory.
Elmhurst (4-3 in CCIW play) travels to the Trinity University (Texas) Invitational this weekend (October 23-24). The Bluejays will host a CCIW Play-in Match on November 3.
