Elmhurst Volleyball Team Drops Heartbreaker to Wheaton

WHEATON, Ill. - The Elmhurst College volleyball team's 2007 season came to a close with a 27-30, 30-28, 30-26, 27-30, 12-15 loss to Wheaton College in a CCIW Tournament play-in match.
Elmhurst led two games to one after three games, but the Thunder battled back to force a decisive fifth game. Elmhurst grabbed a 9-6 lead in the fifth game, but Wheaton closed the match on a 9-3 run to take the 15-12 win in game five.
Callie Schriner (Lanark/Eastland) led the way for the Bluejays in the loss, totaling 15 kills and 23 digs. Alison Friedrich (Wadsworth/Zion-Benton) added 14 kills, 12 digs and three blocks while Morgan Jones (Seymour, Ind./H.S.) finished with 13 kills and three blocks. Caitlin O'Hara (Lemont/H.S.) and Lindsey Wiley (Warsaw, Ind./Tippecanoe) each finished with nine kills in the loss. Kassie Soderstrom (Lombard/Glenbard East) finished with 30 assists while Jameela Chaudhry (Green Oaks/Libertyville) added 25 digs.
Elmhurst closed out the 2007 season with an overall record of 14-18.
