Women's Tennis Team Sinks Millikin

DECATUR, Ill. - The Elmhurst College women's tennis team snapped a six-game skid by blanking Millikin University 9-0. With the win, Elmhurst improved to 2-6 overall and 2-5 in CCIW competition.
Elmhurst crushed Millikin 9-0 winning all six singles contests and the three doubles matches. The Bluejays did not drop a game in doubles competition and won every singles match by straight sets, surrendering just three games total to the Big Blue.
Virginia Dallman downed Hannah Church 6-0, 6-1 to score a victory at No. 1 singles. Shannon Dale followed with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Jena Thomas at No. 2 singles while Stephanie Ruff blanked Michelle Hart 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles. Donna McKinney defeated Millikin's Michelle Micor 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles while Blaire Hufford downed Kelsey Whitney 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5 singles. Alexis Ross closed out singles competition by defeating Tiara Crusoe 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
In doubles play, the duo of Dallman and Dale shutout Church and Hart 8-0 at No. 1 doubles while Hufford and McKinney dispatched Thomas and Micor 8-0 at No. 2 doubles. The Bluejays' pair of Ruff and Emily Tarlini closed out play with an 8-0 shutout of Whitney and Crusoe at No. 3 doubles.
Elmhurst plays at Aurora University on Thursday, September 24.
