Bluejay Softball Team Swept By Illinois Wesleyan

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Elmhurst College softball team dropped to 4-8 in CCIW play following a doubleheader sweep at the hands of Illinois Wesleyan University. The Bluejays dropped game one 10-0 and fell 6-1 in game two. Elmhurst dropped to 10-26 overall with the losses.
ILLLINOIS WESLEYAN 10, ELMHURST 0 (Game One) - Illinois Wesleyan cruised to a 10-0 win despite recording only four singles. Elmhurst self distructed in the loss, walking 10 batters and committing six errors.
The Titans jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning after Elmhurst walked in four straight runs. Multiple Bluejay errors led to four unearned runs the rest of the way. The Bluejays were held to just four hits in five innings.
Michaela Storck (Northlake/West Leyden) took the loss, allowing six runs in one inning of work. She allowed three hits and walked six.
ILLINOIS WESLEYAN 6, ELMHURST 1 (Game Two) - Illinois Wesleyan broke open a scoreless game with a five-run fourth inning. The Titans tacked on a run in the seventh before Elmhurst got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the seventh.
Kristin Hipp (Tipp City, Ohio/Tippecanoe) and Mo Roderick (Alton/H.S.) each recorded a pair of hits in the loss. Ashley Grice (Kirkwood, Mo./H.S.) drove in the Bluejays' only run in the bottom of the seventh.
Jaci Hall (Naperville/Waubonsie Valley) took the loss, allowing 12 hits and six runs (four earned) in seven innings. She walked one and struck out two.
