ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst College women's soccer team scored its second win of the season by shutting out Hope College 1-0.
Laura Valgiusti (Lombard/Glenbard East) scored the game's only goal in the 37th minute. Valgiusti collected a long pass from Courtney Constantino (Strongsville, Ohio/Powell) and beat Hope goalkeeper Kelly Schaefer on a breakaway. The goal was the first of Valgiusti's collegiate career.
Jessica Eberle (Bloomington, Ind./North) was solid in goal for the Bluejays, recording 11 saves and notching her second shut out win of the season.
Schaefer recorded five saves in net for Hope (3-5-0).
Elmhurst (2-4-1) kicks off CCIW play on Sunday, September 23, by hosting North Park University at 1:00 p.m.
