Women's Soccer Team Drops Opener 5-0

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Elmhurst College women's soccer team dropped its 2007 season opening contest, falling to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point 5-0 at the Illinois Wesleyan University tournament.

UW-Stevens Point controlled the tempo of the game, outshooting Elmhurst 24-1 in the game.  Kaylee Weise tallied a pair of goals to lead the UW-Stevens Point.  Amanda Prawat, Mary Jean Cornelius and Lizz Kidd each added a goal for the Pointers.

Jessica Eberle (Bloomington, Ind./North) and Allison Korbel (Schaumburg/H.S.) combined for 17 saves in goal for Elmhurst.

The Bluejays will square off against the University of St. Thomas in their second game of the tournament on Sunday, September 2, at 12:00 p.m.
