Women's Soccer Team Downs St. Mary's

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Elmhurst women's soccer team ran its record to 8-5 overall with a 3-1 road victory at St. Mary's College.
Elmhurst dominated the contest, outshooting St. Mary's 18-6 in the contest, including a 10-1 edge in the first half.
Ali Siebel got Elmhurst on the scoreboard in the 20th minute with a goal from 20 yards out coming off of a Stephanie Thomson assist.
The Bluejays increased their lead early in the second half when Morgan Geimer scored off a cross from Sarah Harvey in the 50th minute.
St. Mary's cut the lead in half in the 56th minute when Katy Durnkin recovered a loose ball in the box and scored.
Lindsay Carlson tacked on an insurance goal in the 83rd minute when she headed home a goal off assists from Amy Baschen and Kelsey Caldwell.
Jessica Eberle and Allison Korbel combined for the victory in net for the Bluejays. Korbel played a scoreless first half and recorded one save, while Eberle allowed just one goal in the second half.
Elmhurst hosts Webster University on Sunday, October 18, at 1:00 p.m.
