Women's Soccer Team Falls at IWU

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Elmhurst College women's soccer team dropped to 7-6 overall and 2-2 in CCIW play after falling 2-1 at fifth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University.

All three goals were scored in the opening 20 minutes of the contest. The Titans scored in the second minute on a Claire Hoekstra goal to take a 1-0 lead. Alyssa Feulner added a goal in the 14th minute to give the Titans a 2-0 lead.

The Bluejays cut the lead in half in the 18th minute when Sarah Harvey scored off a Valerie Wesley assist. 

Neither team was able to score in the second half and the Titans hung on for the 2-1 victory.

Jessica Eberle took the loss in net for the Bluejays after allowing the two goals in the first half. Eberle recorded three saves while Allison Korbel stopped two shots while playing a scoreless second half in net for Elmhurst.

Elmhurst travels to St. Mary's College (Ind.) on Wednesday, October 14.
