Women's Golf Team Places Sixth at CCIW Championship
HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. - The Elmhurst College women's golf team closed out its 2009 fall season by placing sixth at the CCIW Championship at Highland Park Country Club.
Elmhurst fired a two-day total of 743 to place sixth. Illinois Wesleyan University won the team title by recording a 665.
The Bluejays shot a 366 on the championship's first day and were just three shots out of third place. Playing through the rain on the tournament's second day, the Bluejays shot a 377.
Whitney Heinzmann was the top finisher for the Bluejays. Heinzmann tied for 15th place by shooting a 179 (88-91). Abby Gammage fired a 186 (92-94) to tie for 20th place. Emily Labrecque and Kelly Partyka finished tied for 26th place with a 191 while Amanda Wright shot a 194 to place 29th. Amber Remblake rounded out the Bluejays' scoring by shooting a 200 to place 30th.
