Bluejay Golfers Place Third at Monmouth
MONMOUTH, Ill. - The Elmhurst College women's golf team continued its solid start to the 2009 season by placing third at the Monmouth College Invitational.
The Bluejays shot a 351 to place third, finishing just seven strokes behind second-place finisher Millikin University. Maryville University won the team title with a 320.
Abby Gammage fired an 85 to tie for 10th place while Whitney Heinzmann finished one stroke behind in 12th place. Emily Labrecque fired an 88 to tie for 14th place while Kelly Partyka shot a 92 to tie for 29th place. Trisha Goss rounded out the Bluejays' scoring with a 101, good for 55th place.
Five Bluejays competed as individuals with Courtney Classen leading the group with a 96 (40th place). Amber Remblake shot a 98 to tie for 43rd place while Amanda Wright shot a 100 to tie for 51st place. Jorianne Maritato (102 - 59th place) and Heather Flanigan (114 - 76th place) rounded out the scoring for Elmhurst.
