Bluejay Golfers Take Fourth at Cardinal Classic

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Elmhurst College women's golf team continued its strong start to the 2009 season by placing fourth at the Cardinal Classic hosted by North Central College.
The Bluejays fired a 368 to place fourth, finishing just six strokes behind third-place finisher Carthage College. The University of St Francis shot a 355 to place second while Wheaton College won the team title with a combined 350.
Abby Gammage, Whitney Heinzmann, and Emily Labrecque all shot an identical score of 90 to tie for 12th place and lead the Bluejays. Courtney Classen shot a 98 to tie for 27th place while Devin Wangler fired a 103 to tie for 40th place.
A second Elmhurst squad totaled a 396 to place eighth. Trisha Goss led the second team with a 95, good for 24th place. Amber Remblake and Amanda Wright both recorded a score of 98 to tie for 27th place. Jorianne Maritato shot a a 105 to tie for 45th place while Heather Flanigan recorded a 113 to tie for 57th place.
Competing as individuals, Kelly Partyka shot a 98 to tie for 27th place while Christine Moran shot a 104 to place 42nd.
