Women's Golf Team Takes Sixth at Robert Morris
CHICAGO, Ill. - The Elmhurst College women's golf team kicked off the 2009 season by placing sixth at the Robert Morris University Fall Classic.
Elmhurst shot a one-day total of 340 to place sixth. Carthage College won the team title with a 330. A second squad of Elmhurst player shot a 406 to take 10th place.
A pair of golfers scored top-10 individual finishes. Emily Labrecque shot an 80 to tie for fifth place while Abby Gammage fired an 82 to tie for seventh place. Devin Wangler finished tied for 23rd place with an 88 while Kelly Partyka shot a 90 to tie for 28th place. Amber Remblake (96 - tied for 46th place) and Amanda Wright (100 - tied for 56th place) rounded out the Bluejays' scoring.
Elmhurst's "B" team was led by Courtney Classen's 95 (tied for 40th). Trisha Goss shot a 96 to tie for 46th place while Jorianne Maritato placed 59th with a 104. Heather Flanigan shot a 111 to place 64th and Christine Moran shot a 112 to finish in 65th place.
Elmhurst golfs at the North Central College Invitational on September 8.
