Bluejay Bowlers Start Season With 4-1 Mark

FREEPORT, Ill. - The Elmhurst College bowling team kicked off the 2008-09 season by posting a 4-1 record at the Kegel/ISBPA Collegiate Classic.

Elmhurst kicked off the tournament by defeating Illinois State University 848-727. Amanda Warwick led the charge for Elmhurst by rolling a 205. Bethany Holden added a 200 in the Bluejays' victory.

Elmhurst then knocked off Iowa University 952-689 with Warwick bowling a 254. Sarah Paul added a 191 in the win.  The Bluejays ran their record to 3-0 by defeating Robert Morris College-Peoria 820-667. Alyssa Vogler recorded the high score for Elmhurst by rolling a 195.

Elmhurst defeated Illinois State for the second time with an 838-824 victory to move to 4-0. Shannon Grimes paced Elmhurst with a 210 in the victory.

The Bluejays closed out the tournament with a 764-703 loss to Iowa. Paige Marshall rolled a 194 to record the high score for Elmhurst.

The Bluejays travel to Calumet College of St. Joseph on Wednesday, October 29.
