Lyndsie Long Earns All-Region Honors

ELMHURST, Ill. - Elmhurst junior Lyndsie Long has been named to the D3hoops.com all-region third team in women's basketball.

Long becomes the first player in Elmhurst history to earn all-region honors from D3hoops.com since the awards first began during the 2001-02 season.

A unanimous first-team all-conference selection this season, Long was one of only two juniors selected to the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's (CCIW) all-conference squad.

A three-time All-CCIW selection (first-team in 2008 & 2009, third team in 2007), Long led the Bluejays in both scoring (18.6 points per game) and rebounding (6.7 rebounds per game). She also led the team in field goal percentage (.467), 3-pointers made (32), 3-point percentage (.360), and steals (39).

Long saved some her best performances in CCIW contests. She led the league in scoring, averaging 18.9 points per league contest. She also tied for fourth in the league in rebounding (7.1 rebounds per game). She was named the CCIW Player of the Week twice this season.

Earlier this season, Long became the eighth Bluejay to score over 1,000 career points. In three seasons, she has career totals of 1,210 points, 444 rebounds, 111 assists, 108 steals and 25 blocks. Her 1,210 points ranks fifth all-time in school history.

Elmhurst finished the season with a 14-11 overall record. The Bluejays finished tied for fourth in the league with a 7-7 record, but lost a tiebreaker for the final spot in the CCIW Tournament.
