Long Earns All-CCIW Honors
ELMHURST, Ill. - Elmhurst junior Lyndsie Long has been named to the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's (CCIW) all-conference first-team in women's basketball.
The all-conference honor is the third of Long's career, and her second consecutive first-team honor. Long was one of only two juniors selected to the all-conference team. Eleven of the 15 members of the three all-conference teams are graduating seniors.
Long led the Bluejays in both scoring (18.6 points per game) and rebounding (6.7 rebounds per game). She also led the team in field goal percentage (.467), 3-pointers made (32), 3-point percentage (.360), and steals (39).
Long saved some her best performances in CCIW contests. She led the league in scoring, averaging 18.9 points per league contest. She also tied for fourth in the league in rebounding (7.1 rebounds per game). She was named the CCIW Player of the Week twice this season.
Earlier this season, Long became the eighth Bluejay to score over 1,000 career points. In three seasons, she has career totals of 1,210 points, 444 rebounds, 111 assists, 108 steals and 25 blocks. Her 1,210 points ranks fifth all-time in school history.
Elmhurst finished the season with a 14-11 overall record. The Bluejays finished tied for fourth in the league with a 7-7 record, but lost a tiebreaker for the final spot in the CCIW Tournament.
