ELMHURST, Ill.  - The Elmhurst College women's basketball team improved to 4-4 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) by pounding Augustana College 93-73.

Elmhurst opened up an 11-point first half advantage and led 44-36 at halftime.  The Bluejays blew the game open in the second half, running out to a 24-point lead with 1:19 to play.

Elmhurst (8-11 overall) shot 46.8 percent (37-of-79) from the field and 42.9 percent (9-of-21) from beyond the arc. Augustana (4-15, 2-6 CCIW) hit 44.1 percent (26-of-59) of its shots from the field and 40.0 percent (2-of-5) from downtown.

Elmhurst dominated on the glass, outrebounding Augustana by 18 (52-34). The Bluejays pulled down 25 offensive rebounds compared to Augustana's 13.

Lyndsie Long (Sugar Grove/Kaneland) led Elmhurst and all scoreres with a game-high 21 points on 8-of-16 shooting. She added eight rebounds in the win. Brittany Bobruk (Darien/Downers Grove South) added 15 points and nine rebounds while Christine Randick (Downers Grove/Immaculate Conception) came off the bench to score a season-high 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting. Sarah Halbrader (Loves Park/Rockford Boylan) chipped in with 13 points while Kelsey Monroe (West Chicago/H.S.) scored 12. Candice Sutton (Matteson/Rich South) added six points, nine rebounds and four assists in the victory.

Augustana was led by Becky Rehn's 16 points. Meagan Skahill came off the bench to score 13 points.

Elmhurst hosts North Central College on Tuesday, February 5. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
