Long Named CCIW Player of the Week
ELMHURST, Ill. - Elmhurst sophomore Lyndsie Long (Sugar Grove/Kaneland) has been named the CCIW women's basketball Player of the Week.
Long, a forward, averaged 20 points and 9.5 rebounds over a two-game span last week. Long poured in a game-high 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while also recording three steals in the Bluejays' 71-67 loss to Anderson University on December 11. On Saturday (December 15), Long shot 7-of-11 from the floor and scored 16 points while grabbing nine rebounds in the Elmhurst's 92-60 win over Wisconsin Lutheran College.
Long, a third-team all-conference selection last year, currently leads the team in both scoring (14.3 points per game) and rebounds (6.0 per game).
