Brian McConnell Earns All-America Honors

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Elmhurst College runner Brian McConnell (Delavan/H.S.)earned All-America honors by placing fifth in the mile run at the 2007 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships.

McConnell crossed the finish line in fifth-place with a time of 4:12.88, just behind Andy Cloke of SUNY-Cortland's four-place time of 4:12.33.  Will Leer of Pomona-Pitzer captured the national title with a time of 4:08.19.

On Friday, McConnell qualified for the finals by turning in a time of 4:13.69. He finished third in his heat, earning the automatic trip to the finals.

McConnell is the first member of the Bluejay men's squad to earn All-America honors since the 2002 season.
