Track Teams Run at Chicagoland Championships
NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Elmhurst College men's and women's track and field teams kicked off the outdoor season by competing at the Chicagoland Championships. The men's team placed 13th while the women's team placed 21st.
On the men's side, the Bluejays scored 16 points. Brian McConnell (Delavan/H.S.) won the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:57.62. Mike Ptack (Oak Park/Oak Park-River Forest) scored the team's final six points by placing third in the 10,000 meters. Ptack finished the race in 31:49.72.
On the women's side, the Bluejays totaled 1.5 points. Molli Hermiston (Eldridge, Iowa/North Scott) scored the Bluejays' points by tying for seventh place in the high jump. Hermiston cleared a height of 4-9.75.
