Track Teams Run at Lewis Invitational
ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Elmhurst College men's and women's indoor track and field teams returned to action by running at the Lewis University Invitational. No team scores were kept at the event.
Megan Johnson (Plano/H.S.) turned in a strong performance for the women's team by earning a pair of top-10 finishes. Johnson placed ninth in the mile run with a time of 5:40.47. She added a fourth-place finish in the 1,000 meters, crossing the finish line 3:26.96.
The 1,000 meters was a strong event for the Bluejay women as three additional Bluejay runners finished in the top-10. Quinn Bolander (Sycamore/H.S.) placed sixth in 3:39.17 while Emily Mills (St. Joseph/St. Joseph-Ogden) placed seventh in 3:39.61. Emily Baldyga (Minier/Olympia) finished the event in 10th-place with a time of 3:55.19.
Michelle Smith (Berkley, Mich./H.S.) placed 12th in the 3,000 meters with a time of 11:15.47.
On the men's side, Pat Austin (Yorkville/H.S.) scored a third-place finish in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:53.17. Brian McConnell (Delavan/H.S.) had a strong showing in the mile run, taking fifth place in 4:27.83.
Bryon Pyka (McHenry/McHenry East) finished ninth in the 200 meters with a time of 23.89 seconds.
