Elmhurst Wrestlers Climb to Seventh in National Rankings

ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst College wrestling team has climbed three spots in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association Poll, moving to seventh-place in the nation.

Two weeks earlier, the Bluejays vaulted from 21st place to 10th in the nation. After defeating North Central College in a dual meet and winning their own Elmhurst Invitational, the Bluejays have moved up three spots to seventh in the standings.

Four Bluejays are now ranked among the top eight wrestlers in their respective weight classes.

Ward Brady (Bartlett/Glenbard North) remains the highest ranked Bluejay, holding onto sixth-place in the rankings at 285 pounds.

Jake Oster (Lockport/H.S.) has moved into eighth-place at 125 pounds while Kyle Katz (Des Plaines/Maine West) has slipped into eighth-place at 157 pounds. Jeff Kastel (Hinsdale/Central) is now ranked eighth at 149 pounds.

Elmhurst will compete at the Pete Wilson Invitational at Wheaton College on January 26-27.
