Bluejay Grapplers Post 2-2 Record at Desert Duals
LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Elmhurst College wrestling team turned in a 2-2 dual meet record at the 2007 Desert Duals. The Bluejays ran their dual meet record to 4-2 on the season.
Elmhurst began the tournament with a 34-3 win over King's College (Pa.). The Bluejays dropped a 33-15 dual to seventh-ranked Coe College before toppling 30th-ranked Loras College 22-13. The Bluejays dropped their final dual of the tournament to second-ranked Wartburg College 39-3.
Jeff Kastel (Clarendon Hills/Hinsdale Central) and Kyle Katz (Des Plaines/Maine West) each turned in 3-1 records to lead the Bluejays. Wrestling at 149 pounds, Kastel's only loss was to top-ranked Jacob Naig of Wartburg. Competing at 157 pounds, Katz's only defeat came at the hands of third-ranked Aaron Wernimont of Wartburg.
