The 27th Annual Al Hanke Wrestling Invitational took place on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at R.A. Faganel Hall.

Elmhurst College captured the team title with 151.5 points. Six Bluejays captured individual titles. Olivet College finished second (143.0 points), with three Comets captured individual crowns. Lakeland College finished third with 135.5 points.

Jake Oster of Elmhurst swept the individual awards, winning the tournament's "Most Outstanding Wrestler," and the award for the "Most Falls in the least amount of time (three pins in 5:49)
