Cross Country Teams Run at Oshkosh

OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Elmhurst College men's and women's cross country teams returned to action by running at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Brooks Invitational. The women's squad placed 16th while the men's team finished 23rd.

On the men's side the Bluejays finished with 688 points. Tom McGrath was the top finisher for the Bluejays, placing 124th in 26:04.31. Jake Austin finished 135th with a time of 26:38.85 while Ken Ptack placed 238th in 26:52.38. Jeff Camp crossed the finish line just a split second behind Ptack in 240th place with time of 26:52.90. Nathan Selling finished 275th in 27:11.90 while Danny DeCleene (299th place in 27:23.22) and Andrew Dunham (259th place in 27:55.90) rounded out the Bluejays' top seven.

The Elmhurst women's team totaled 453 points to place 16th overall, just three points behind 15th-place finisher Carroll University. Katlyn Bednarski was the Bluejays' top finisher, crossing the finish line in 67th place in 22:54.46. Hannah Williams finished 82 in 23:05.15 while Shauna Potrawski placed 100th in 23:18.90. Rebekah Clark placed 139th in 23:51.95 while Lauren Williams finished in 170th place with a time of 24:07.35. Megan Johnson (173rd place in 24:08.55) and Mariola Grzybowska (179th place in 24:14.16) completed the Bluejays' top seven.

Elmhurst hosts the 2009 CCIW Championships at Eldridge Park on October 31.
