Cross Country Teams Run at CCIW Championships
KENOSHA, Wis. - The Elmhurst College men's and women's cross country teams returned to action by running at the 2008 CCIW Cross Country Championships. The men's team placed fifth with 135 points while the women's squad finished sixth with 134 points.
On the men's side, the Bluejays totaled 135 points, and finished only five points behind fourth-place finisher Carthage College (130 points). Pat Austin earned all-conference honors by placing eighth overall in 25:35. Brian McConnell finished 24th in 26:46 while Bob Spelich finished 35th with a time of 27:31. Jeff Camp placed 45th with a time of 27:48 while Nathan Selling rounded out the Bluejays' top-five with a 52nd place finish in 28:15.
On the women's side, the Bluejays totaled 134 points, finishing 16 points behind fifth-place finisher Augustana College (118). Katlyn Bednarski earned all-conference honors by finishing as the league's runner-up in 22:46. Michelle Smith finished in 28th place in 24:01 while Rebekah Clark placed 34th with a time of 24:14. Megan Johnson finished in 40th place with a time of 24:38 while Shauna Potrawski rounded out Elmhurst's top-five with a 41st place finish in 24:39.
Both teams will run at the NCAA Midwest Regional on Saturday, November 15.
