Men's Soccer Team Topples Edgewood

ELMHURST, Ill. - Jake Pahr scored the game-winning goal with less than two minutes remaining to lift the Elmhurst College men's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Edgewood College.

Elmhurst (5-2-1 overall) started the scoring in the 54th minute when Brian McMahon scored off of a Matt Sterner assist. Edgewood (4-2-2) evened the scored in the 76th minute when Tyler Duellman scored off a Andriy Apetrey corner kick in the 76th minute.

With under two minutes to play, Edgewood was called for a foul giving the Bluejays a free kick. Randy Warren chipped the kick over a wall of Edgewood defenders to Pahr. Pahr collected the pass and found the back of the net with 1:34 remaining to give Elmhurst the win.

The Bluejays outshot Edgewood 19-9 in the game and had a 9-2 edge on corner kicks

Sebastian Domczewski allowed just one goal while recording four saves in net for the Bluejays.

Elmhurst begins CCIW play on Saturday, September 26, by hosting Augustana College at Langhorst Field.
