Bluejay Men Fall to Fifth Ranked Loras

ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst College men's soccer team slipped to 4-2-1 on the season following a 2-1 loss to fifth-ranked Loras College.
Loras (5-1-1) jumped out to a quick 2-0 less than five minutes into the game. Donald St. George got the Duhawks on the scoreboard just 1:24 into the game when he sent a shot into the top right corner of the net. Less than three minutes later, Matt Splittgerber sent home a rebound shot to give Loras a 2-0 lead.
Elmhurst cut the lead in half in the 10th minute as Matt Sterner scored off a Ken Miller assist.
The game would remain scoreless for the final 80 minutes as Loras held on to earn the win.
Loras outshot Elmhurst 12-6 in the contest.
Sebastian Domczewski recorded three saves and allowed two goals in net for Elmhurst. Adam Kelsch tallied one save and allowed one goal for Loras.
Elmhurst hosts Edgewood College at Berens Park on Wednesday, September 23, at 7:00 p.m.
