Men's Soccer Team Falls To Transylvania 4-1

ELMHURST, Ill. - Transylvania University scored four second half goals to knock off the Elmhurst College men's soccer team 4-1. The Bluejays slipped to 3-8-4 while Transylvania moved to 9-2-1.
Elmhurst grabbed a lead just before halftime. With less than 30 seconds to play in the half, Aaron Rossi (Peoria/Richwoods) redirected a Tommy Gilbert (Canyon Country, Calif./Canyon) direct kick to put the Bluejays up 1-0.
Elmhurst's lead held until the 64th minute when Ryan Wood knocked home a Matt Burton corner kick. Less than four minutes later Thomas Lafler headed home a goal off a feed from Wood. Wood put Transylvania up 3-1 just tow minutes later when he scored off a Matt Karaffa corner kick. Matt Vogel tacked on a penalty kick in the 82nd minute to give the Pioneers their final goal of the game.
Transylvania outshot Elmhurst 15-9.
Britt Blackwell (Lake Zurich/H.S.) recorded four saves in goal for the Bluejays.
