ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst College men's soccer team closed out the 2008 season with a 3-2 overtime loss to Carthage College.

With the loss, Elmhurst finished the 2008 season with a 12-6-1 overall record and a 2-4-1 mark in CCIW play. Carthage moved to 9-6-3 overall and 4-2-2 in league play.

Elmhurst got on the scoreboard first when Danny Guthrie scored off a Jacob Misel cross in the 18th minute.

Carthage scored back-to-back goals to grab a 2-1 lead. Gary Mouradian scored off a feed from Josh Khoshbin in the 23rd minute for the first goal, and Tyler Peterson scored a breakaway goal in the 24th minute off a pass from Mouradian.

Elmhurst evened the score at 2-all in the 32nd minute when Brian McMahon headed home a corner kick by Jon Brehm.

After a scoreless second half, Carthage took advantage of an Elmhurst turnover in overtime as Chris Fidlow found Khoshbin open in front of the net to give Carthage the 3-2 win.

Elmhurst outshot Carthage 28-25 in the contest and had a 7-4 edge in corner kicks.

Sebastian Domczewski recorded nine saves in net for the Bluejays.
