Men's Golf Team Takes Eighth at St. Francis

PLAINFIELD, Ill. - The Elmhurst College men's golf team kicked off the 2009-10 season by placing eighth at the University of St. Francis Fall Classic.

The Bluejays fired a 305 to tie Olivet Nazarene University's "B" team for eighth place. The Bluejays finished just two strokes behind North Park University and Olivet Nazarene who both shot a 303 to tie for fifth place. Lewis University won the invite with a 281.

Matt Cross was the top finisher for the Bluejays, shooting a 74 to tie for 22nd place. Josh Magee finished just one stroke behind with a 75, good for 28th place. Josh Gornzey and Billy Buchholz both shot a 78 to tie for 50th place. Scott Stastny rounded out Elmhurst's scoring by shooing an 80 and tying for 66th place.

Elmhurst golfs at the Cress Creek Invitational in Naperville on September 21.
