Men's Golf Team Takes Sixth at CCIW Championships
HUNTLEY, Ill. - The Elmhurst College men's golf team finished up the 2009 season by placing sixth at the CCIW Championships.
After shooting a 611 over the first two rounds of the tournament on April 17-18, the Bluejays wrapped up the final two rounds by shooting a 637 (309-328).
Illinois Wesleyan University won the team title with an 1165. Carthage College was second (1188), while Wheaton College (1202) took third. Elmhurst finished 14 shots behind fifth-place North Central College (1234).
Ben O'Bryan finished 12th overall at the championships after totaling a 302. O'Bryan shot a team-leading 154 over the final two rounds. Seth Birkholz finished in 19th place with a 310, while Josh Magee placed 24th with a 312. Birkholz fired a 157 over the final two rounds while Magee shot a 162. Scott Stastny placed 32nd overall with a 329 while Tyler Qahhaar shot a 334 to place 35th. Stastny shot a 169 over the final two rounds while Qahhaar scored a 165.
