Lomnicki Named CCIW Player of the Week
ELMHURST, Ill. - Elmhurst College football player Tyler Lomnicki (Elmhurst/York) has been named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's (CCIW) Special Teams Player of the Week.
Lomnicki, a junior kicker/punter, accounted for nine of Elmhurst's points in a 27-6 win over the University of Chicago on Saturday (September 27). Lomnicki booted a pair of field goals, connecting from 20, and 27 yards, and converted all three of his extra-point attempts in the Bluejays' win. In addition, Lomnicki also averaged 45.0 yards per punt while punting six times for 270 yards. He dropped two of his punts inside Chicago’s 20-yard line.
Lomnicki has earned a pair of varsity letters in football as the team's starting placekicker for the past two seasons. He has been named a Special Teams Player of the Week in each of the past two seasons.
Elmhurst is off to a 3-0 start to the 2008 season. The Bluejays kick of CCIW play this weekend by hosting Augustana College on Saturday (October 4), at 1:00 p.m.
