Elmhurst's Jake Mobley Named CCIW Player of the Week
ELMHURST, Ill., - Elmhurst College football players Jake Mobley (Hoffmann Estates/Schaumburg) has been named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's (CCIW) Defensive Player of the Week.
Mobley shares the honors with Wheaton College's Chris Fossum (Offense) and Augustana College's Tim Podulka (Special Teams).
Mobley, a senior defensive tackle, helped lead the Bluejay defense in a 42-14 win over Olivet College. Mobley recorded seven tackles, including four tackles for loss. He also tied an Elmhurst single-game record by recording three quarterback sacks.
The Bluejays are off to a 3-0 start to the 2007 season and begin CCIW play by hosting Carthage College on Saturday, September 29, at 1:00 p.m.
