Brent Ruch Named Preseason All-American

ELMHURST, Ill. - Elmhurst center Brent Ruch (Farmer City/Blue Ridge) has been named to D3hoops.com's Preseason All-American Fourth Team.

Ruch, a 6-9 junior, turned in a career-year last season. He earned first-team All-CCIW honors and was also named to D3hoops.com's All-Region Third Team. He started all 27 games last season and averaged 13.4 points per game. He led the team in rebounds, pulling down an average of 7.3 boards per contest.  Ruch also established a new Elmhurst single-season record for field goal percentage, shooting 61.7 percent from the floor (140-of-227). He reached double figures in scoring in 19 contests, scoring a career-high 32 points at Augustana College. 

Ruch also led the CCIW in field goal percentage, shooting 67.4 percent in conference games. He also ranked second in the league in rebounding, averaging 7.9 rebounds per game.

In two seasons with the Bluejays, Ruch is averaging 11.0 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. He has scored 582 career points and pulled down 336 rebounds.

Elmhurst, ranked 16th in the preseason D3hoops.com poll, opens the 2007-08 season on Saturday, November 17, by hosting Simpson College at 3:00 p.m.
