Bluejay Baseball Team Falls to Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Elmhurst College baseball team slipped to 10-20 on the season following a 7-5 loss at Rockford College.
Trailing 4-1 after six innings, the Bluejays grabbed a 5-4 lead with a four-run outburst in the top of the seventh. A Pat Meginniss (Elgin/H.S.) two-run single capped the scoring for the Bluejays.
Elmhurst's lead was short lived as Rockford struck back for three runs in the bottom of the seventh.
Meginniss finished with two of the Bluejays' six hits. Tom Rhein (Worth/Brother Rice) added a solo home run in the fourth inning.
Cyrus Rogers (Wheaton/Glenbard West) suffered the loss in relief for Elmhurst. He allowed two hits and two runs in two innings of relief. He walked two and fanned three.
Elmhurst plays at Wheaton College on Friday, April 25.
