Bluejay Baseball Team Falls to Concordia-Chicago

ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst College baseball team dropped its seventh straight contest, falling to Concordia University-Chicago 10-5.  The loss dropped the Bluejays to 8-17 overall.

Elmhurst grabbed a 3-1 lead in the first inning after Elmhurst scored a pair of runs on a Jim Deschamps (Glenview/Glenbrook South) smacked a two-run double.

Concordia reclaimed the lead by scoring five times in the top of the third. Elmhurst pulled to within two runs by scoring in the fifth, but Concordia put the game out of reach by scoring four times in the eighth.

Mike Goltz (Neenah, Wis./H.S.) led the Bluejays offense with three hits, including a solo home run. Deschamps added two hits, while scoring twice and driving in two. Michael Kerr (Glenview/Glenbrook South) added three hits in the loss.

Kevin Capps (Des Plaines/Maine West) suffered the loss. He worked 2.1 innings and allowed six hits and six runs. He walked three and fanned four.

Elmhurst travels to Millikin University on Saturday, April 19.
