Becca Zumpf Earns All-CCIW Honors
ELMHURST, Ill. - Elmhurst College outfielder Becca Zumpf has been named to the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's all-conference softball squad. Zumpf was chosen as an at-large player to the all-conference first team.
Zumpf led the Bluejays in almost every offensive category. She posted a team-high batting average of .385 while leading the team in hits (37), runs scored (22), doubles (six), triples (five), total bases (53), walks (16), slugging percentage (.552), and on-base percentage (.473).
Earlier in the season, she set an Elmhurst single-game record by drawing four walks in a loss to Carthage College. Her five triples is the second-highest single-season mark in school history.
Zumpf saved some of her best performances for CCIW contests. She finished sixth in the league in batting average with a .405 mark. She also led the league in on-base percentage with a whopping .510 mark, and tied for the lead league in triples with two. Zumpf also co-led the lead in walks, by drawing nine base-on-balls in CCIW contests.
Elmhurst finished the 2009 season with a 14-22 overall record and a 2-12 mark in CCIW competition.
