With 18 varsity sports, Elmhurst competes in the CCIW, one of the top conferences in NCAA Division III athletics. We're big enough to offer a wide choice of sports, but small enough that you can really contribute to your team's success. What's more, we have some of the best facilities in the conference.
Here's some of what you'll find at Elmhurst:
- Winning teams. In the past decade, the Bluejays have won conference championships in women's volleyball, wrestling, baseball, softball, women's cross-country, and men's basketball. The women's volleyball and men's basketball teams recently qualified for NCAA postseason play. Individual athletes have competed at the NCAA Championships in four sports: women's cross-country, wrestling, and men's and women's track and field.
- High academic standards. Most Elmhurst teams boast grade-point averages of 3.0 or higher. Student-athletes have won recent Academic All-America honors in six sports, and three teams have recently won academic honors.
- A growing program. In the past 10 years, the number of Bluejay athletes has more than doubled. Today, more than 400 Elmhurst students participate in intercollegiate athletics; more than half of our students play intercollegiate or intramural sports.
As a member of an Elmhurst athletics team, you'll learn the value of teamwork, discipline, hard work, and excellence. And you'll prepare for a dynamic, challenging life as an athlete and as a professional. |
