Elmhurst College's Bluejay Backers promotes 18 Bluejay teams through a variety of activities, including special events and fund-raising. This year, the club celebrates its 30th year of support for the College's intercollegiate athletic program. Since 1979, the Bluejay Backers have raised more than $1 million for Elmhurst's athletic programs.

What We Do
Bluejay Backers sponsors a variety of activities and events designed to promote and support intercollegiate athletics at Elmhurst.

Our most important fund-raising event is the annual Bluejay Backer Golf Outing, which includes 18 holes of golf, lunch, dinner, gifts, prizes, and a raffle. This year, the 26th annual Bluejay Backer Golf Outing will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at the Bloomingdale Golf Club. Bluejay Backers supports student recognition activities by sponsoring letters, certificates, and plaques given to the College's outstanding athletes. The club also recognizes community members for their involvement in Bluejay athletics with an annual Community Service Recognition plaque. The plaque was first awarded in 1996 to Elmhurst Mayor Thomas D. Marcucci. The 2008 honoree was Pete DiCianni.

What We've Done
Since its founding in 1979, Bluejay Backers has made a significant difference in Elmhurst College athletics. For example, the group provided critical initial funding for the 2002 Langhorst Field renovation, the 1997 renovation of the football locker room in Goebel Hall, and the 1987 construction of the Oliver M. Langhorst Field Press Box.

In addition, the club has purchased rehabilitation and conditioning machines for the training room, weight machines for the weight room in the Tyrrell Fitness Center, and all of the concession equipment used in the concession stands at Langhorst Field and R.A Faganel Hall. It has provided funding for new uniforms, team equipment, and team trips.

How to Join Us!
Join the Bluejay Backers in supporting intercollegiate athletics at Elmhurst College. You can join online today at our secure giving site (please make sure to designate your gift "Bluejay Backers membership"). Come out and cheer on your Bluejays at all of our athletic events!

The annual membership fee is $75. In addition, $50 of your $75 membership dues can be designated to assist a specific sport while $25 will be used to aide the College's entire athletic program. In this way, your $75 will benefit every athlete at Elmhurst College and also help your favorite team.
